SECTION 1 - General Information
1.1 This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Disabled Mobility (DM) collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the DM website ("Site") and phone calls. This privacy policy applies to the Site, phone calls, communications, and all products and services offered by DM. By using this Site you consent to the collection and use of information by DM as specified in this Privacy Policy and agree to be bound by the provisions set forth in this policy.
SECTION 2 - How We Use and Collect Your Information
2.1 When you visit DisabledMobility.org, we may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our, fill out a donation form, and in connection with other activities, services, features, or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and vehicle details. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identifiable information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.
2.2 When you browse our Site, we also automatically receive your computer's Internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
2.3 Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience. User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.
2.4 We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users' means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the internet service providers utilized and other similar information.
2.5 We do not sell, trade, or rent Users' personal identification information to others with the exception of the charity to which you donate your vehicle to. Your contact information, vehicle information, and sale information is shared with our charities, as you are agreeing to donate your vehicle to their cause. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.
2.6 If a Donor's vehicle sells for more than $500 an IRS form 1098c will be provided to the Donor only if the donor provides DM with their Social Security Number (SSN.) Donor's SSN is required by the IRS's tax law for vehicle donations, and for donors to receive a tax deduction greater than $500. DM protects the privacy of donors. Donor information is not given to any organization except the IRS, as required by law, and the donor designated charity. Donor names and addresses, excluding Social Security Numbers, are shared with the donor designated charity.
SECTION 3 - Consent
3.1 When you provide us with personal information to complete a donation, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
3.2 If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent or provide you with an opportunity to say no.
3.3 If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us at anytime, by contacting us here.
SECTION 4 - Age of Consent
4.1 By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence.
4.2 Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Site from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our Site is structured to attract anyone under 13.
SECTION 5 - Disclosure
5.1 We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Conditions.
5.2 You agree that the information you provide is accurate and truthful to the best of your knowledge.
5.3 Once you leave our Site or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our Site's Terms of Conditions.
5.4 The logos and images of DM and other companies used on this site are protected by the copyright and trademark laws of the United States of America.
5.5 DM gives no tax advice. It is solely your responsibility to report vehicle value and your tax status. More information about deducting vehicle donations is available from the IRS at http://www.irs.gov.
SECTION 6 - Security
6.1 To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
SECTION 7 - Changes to this Policy
7.1 We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the Site. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
7.2 If our Site is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to serve our donors and donees.
